Harmony In Practice: A Clinical Workshop

Backline is proud to present Harmony In Practice Clinical Workshop for mental health providers from around the country working with music industry professionals and their families. Join us, September 13th and 14th at Infinity Park Event Center in Denver, CO.

Who Should Attend?

This in-person workshop is designed for mental health and wellness providers, social workers and counselors at all levels of experience and licensure to gain a better working knowledge of how to clinically treat individuals within the music industry. 

Learning Objectives

After attending this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the struggles members of the music industry face, and the negative impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
  2. Participants will report a greater understanding of specialty treatments and resources to use with members of the music industry.
  3. Participants will describe a greater understanding of how to properly explore, engage, and document efforts to treat, while assessing how to incorporate skills developed into their own practice.

Course Outline

Friday 9/13

11:30am – 12:00pm Registration and Check-in

12:00pm – 1:00pm: Backline Care: Specialty Treatment of Members of the Music Industry, led by Backline’s Clinical Director, Ari Jacobson LCPC, NCC

1:15pm – 2:00pm: Suicide & Mental Health in Art, Entertainment, & Recreation led by Ari Jacobson, LCPC, NCC and Andrew Dudash

2:30pm – 3:30pm: Sound Medicine – Unveiling the Inner Encore: Integrating KAP into Therapy for Music Industry Professionals led by Mariah Jeremiah, MSW, LCSW

3:30pm–4:00pm: Mindfulness/Breathwork Practice

4:00pm-4:30pm: Closing remarks and course evaluations

1:45pm-2:45pm: How to Make Healing a Lifestyle: An Introduction to Wellness led by William Washington, Ph.D, LPCC-S

We are pleased to offer student tickets for our upcoming conference at a special half-price rate of $100. Please note that student tickets do not qualify for continuing education credits for social workers or counselors, nor do they include a free ticket to the Greensky Bluegrass concert at Red Rocks. To be eligible for a student ticket, proof of enrollment, such as a student ID or course schedule, must be presented during registration.

Course Completion and CE

Harmony in Practice is approved for 7 Category A CEs through NBCC. Approval is pending through the Board of Social Work. Participants must attend the entire course and complete a course evaluation to earn CE hours, if approved. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.

Please contact your local licensing Board to ensure NBCC and Board of Social Work credit is approved for your licensure.
