Mr. Max

“I’ve struggled with OCD/Anxiety since I was a kid. I didn’t fully understand what it was when I was younger, but I knew it wasn’t “normal,” so it was something I kept to myself and struggled with silently for years. I was able to manage it and function, but things were always a bit off in certain areas of my life. I’ve recently realized that many of the barriers that I encounter in relationships, career, and ability to find fulfillment, have their foundation in my anxiety and OCD. With this realization, I’ve begun to work on facing the root cause of these problems: acceptance of uncertainty, and acceptance of the discomfort that arises from fear of uncertainty. From this, I’ve discovered that there is great power in learning to let go, and in allowing oneself to be open and vulnerable. I’ve also found amazing communities of people who are willing to support one another in their journey to improve their mental health. I find comfort and a sense of purpose in connecting and sharing my experiences with others. It never ceases to amaze me how universal many of our personal issues turn out to be once we begin sharing.”

–Mr. Max
