The following Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to B-LINE text and phone services. The Terms have been developed by Backline, Inc. (“Backline”). The Terms are subject to change at any time and will become effective immediately. Each time you use B-LINE via text, you will be presented with the current Terms for acceptance. You are required to accept the Terms to use B-LINE.
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately.
B-LINE provides support on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Backline makes no promises or guarantees about B-LINE services. Backline is not liable for actions taken (or not taken) by you or any third party. You agree to indemnify Backline and hold Backline harmless for damages arising out of your use of B-LINE. Without limiting the above, in no event is Backline liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.
Backline does not charge you to use B-LINE. You may, however, be responsible for any of the following charges:
- Your phone bill, depending on your phone plan. It is free to call or text the Backline Hotline, but if you do not have unlimited calls and texts, you may see a charge from your mobile phone service provider.
- Emergency services. If a Backline Hotline contact center contacts emergency services like 911 after your call, you may receive a bill. This could include charges for an ambulance or hospitalization.
- Outside referrals. If a counselor connects you to a resource or referral outside the Backline Hotline and you use that service, you may receive a bill from that service. We recommend you ask about fees and insurance coverage options before using any services outside of the Backline Hotline.
We reserve the right to disclose personally identifiable information (PII) to authorities (such as 911) at our sole discretion and as required by law. Some examples of when we would disclose PII include, but are not limited to:
- a person’s life is at imminent risk of death or serious injury;
- a minor or elder is being abused (according to their state’s laws); or
- a threat is made to a Backline Hotline crisis contact center; office; or affiliated individual that we believe needs to be investigated.
SMS Texting
Please read the following before using this service. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Text HELP for help or STOP to opt out. By accessing Backline SMS texting you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy described herein. If you don’t agree to the terms, you may not use this service.
Modification of the Terms, Conditions and Privacy Statement
The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Each time you access this service you will be presented with the current terms, conditions and privacy statement for acceptance. You must agree to the modified terms to use this service.
Nature and use of information Provided through this service
Your participation in Backline SMS texting does not constitute mental health care or treatment and does not constitute an attorney-client relationship, a therapist-patient relationship or any other sort of confidential relationship. This service is not a substitute for professional health care. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 immediately.
Backline, Vibrant Emotional Health, and any of its employees, volunteers or agents are not responsible for any decisions, or results of the decisions that you make while, as a result of, or after participating in B-Line SMS texting. This includes whether you choose to seek or not seek professional care, or to modify or terminate specific treatment that you are currently receiving based on the information provided by this service. You assume all risk for use of this service. Backline, Vibrant Emotional Health, and any of its employees, volunteers, or agents have no liability for actions taken by you or a third party, or not taken by you or a third party, and you agree to indemnify us and hold us harmless for damages arising out of the information provided through this service. Without limiting the foregoing, in no event shall Backline or Vibrant Emotional Health be liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages. This service is provided by Vibrant Emotional Health on an “as is” basis and “as available” basis.

Backline and Vibrant Emotional Health takes your privacy and security very seriously. Vibrant Emotional Health uses standard security controls including encryption to protect your information. Despite these protections, the Internet remains an imperfectly secure environment, and Vibrant Emotional Health cannot guarantee protection from intruders or interceptors. You agree to use this service and submit information at your own risk. Your use of these services indicates you agree that Backline or Vibrant Emotional Health has no liability regarding unauthorized access to this service by unauthorized parties.
