FAQ
How does it work?
Once you fill out our online submission form, you will be sent a link (via text or email) to schedule a call with one of our Case Managers.
During the call, our team will assess your needs and develop a plan for your unique situation. Questions on the call will address your work in the industry, location, financial and insurance status, presenting issues, and your past experience with the mental health system.
Together, we will develop a plan of action to get you the appropriate resources.

Who are the Case Managers?
Backline Case Managers are licensed therapists, social workers, and individuals pursuing licensure in the mental health field who have personal or professional experience in the music industry. This specific experience allows us to better understand an individual’s experience and find a solution tailored to those specific needs, whether it’s at home or on the road.
Will my call be confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to Backline. Information is stored following strict HIPAA privacy regulations, and is never discussed outside of the Case Management team. For more information on HIPAA regulations, please visit the CDC’s privacy rule standards.
Who will Backline refer me to?
Backline’s referral network is composed of therapists, psychiatrists, recovery coaches, life coaches, and other wellness providers who have had direct or comparable personal or professional experience in the music industry. All mental health professionals are vetted by a member of our team, allowing Backline to provide resources that align with our mission and your individual preferences.
How much does Backline cost?
Backline’s Case Management program is free of charge. Additionally, many practitioners in our referral network offer exclusively low rates for Backline clients in order to accommodate the need for mental health care in the community. We believe that consistent, ongoing care is the most effective path forward, and it is our mission to make these options as easily accessible as possible.
What’s the point?
Being a professional in the music industry is a rewarding but demanding experience. Oftentimes professional constraints make it difficult to get the support needed, and we understand that finding a provider who works around these constraints can be a barrier to getting help.
By compiling resources tailored to the music industry, Backline simplifies the process, enabling an individual to access the help they need immediately. Our services are aimed at finding the ways an individual can continue to do the work they love while feeling healthy and supported.
